Thinking of buying or selling your car through car-ease? You might have some questions on your mind. We’ve put together answers to the most frequent questions to help you along your way.

 

 

My car’s a non-starter, will you still buy it?

Yes. As there are more details to understand with a non-starting car, it’s best that we discuss this over the phone. Please call us on 0800 980 4240.

Do you buy cars registered outside the British mainland?

We only buy cars registered in England, Wales and Scotland.

You’ve responded to my car valuation submission with an offer of purchase email; will that change when you arrive to collect my car?

Prices change very often in the used car market, and this is why our offer is valid for 14 days. Within this period, if the information you’ve provided is honest and correct, we promise to honour the final price that we provided by email. But if the car is not as described than understandably the offer price will be adjusted.

Will I be charged admin or any other fees for selling my car to you?

It’s simple, no. There are no fees to pay.

Do I have to provide full details of my cars condition?

Complete the online valuation form and within 48 hours expect a personalised offer of purchase. Remember to be as accurate as possible when telling us about your car; photos are always helpful so we can provide an accurate offer.

Why does the valuation process with car-ease take 48 hours when other companies can offer this instantly?

This is why car-ease is different. We don’t use a computer generated offer process. Instead we take a more personal approach which includes your cars condition and service history to provide a much more accurate offer.

Will you come to collect my car?

Yes. We aim to make selling your car easy! That’s why we will arrange with you a convenient collection date & time and meet you at your home address to make the handover and exchange funds. Remember we won’t charge you a collection fee either! *see our Terms page.

Can I reschedule my agreed collection time?

Yes. We understand sometimes things crop up! If you need to reschedule please let us know as soon as possible and preferably before the morning of the collection day. If you do need to rearrange please call us on 0800 980 420.

What documents will I need when filling out the valuation form and at my collection date?

For completing the valuation form and at the day of collection you will need the following documents ready.

  • ID – a driving license or passport
  • V5 Document (log book) in your name
  • Service book
  • Current or previous MOT Test certificate, whichever is most up-to-date
  • Any spare keys or car handbook
  • Bank card, so we have the correct payment details

How do I know I’ll get paid?

We pay by secure bank transfer (Faster Payment Service) when we come to collect your car and will provide a full purchase receipt. Only when you are happy the transfer has been made will we drive your car away. There are no hidden charges or fees, you get the full amount.

What guarantees can I expect when buying from car-ease?

All cars sold through car-ease include a full car check guarantee, no stolen record, not involved in an insurance write-off, not registered as scrapped and no outstanding finance.

I’ve purchased a car from car-ease, but I am not quite ready to drive it home, can you deliver my car to my home or work address?

Yes, we would be happy to. Please let us know when you purchase the car that you would need this service and we can discuss the best delivery date & time and depending on where you live or work, work out a delivery cost.
